Oracle executive Nicole Engelbert joins Cara Kronen on the Democratic ticket for Tuckahoe Village Trustee

Nicole Engelbert of Tuckahoe brings a wealth of experience in the crucial fields of technology and education - along with an abiding love for the Village - into her first bid for public office. She is running along with Cara Kronen for Tuckahoe Village Trustee.

In her role at the tech giant Oracle, Nicole is responsible for developing digital solutions for universities and colleges, expanding educational access and opportunities for countless students.

Before being named Oracle’s Vice President of Higher Education, Nicole worked 12 years at the consulting firm Ovum. There, she advised universities, government agencies, healthcare institutions, and private-sector enterprises on how to build technology systems to improve client services.

A widely recognized leader in the field of higher education technology, Nicole is regularly quoted in The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and other publications. She is also a board member of IMS Global, an international technology organization that sets standards for education technology.

Nicole learned firsthand about the challenges of higher education early in her career, as an admissions officer at Aquinas College in the Boston area and in a variety of roles at Plaza College in Queens.

Nicole grew up in northern New York and is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. She credits her parents, James and Patricia Marshall – who both owned successful small businesses – with instilling in her the values of hard work and dedication.

She is a magna cum laude graduate of Union College in Schenectady, where she majored in Classics, and earned her Master’s degree in Educational Administration & Policy Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Nicole and her husband, Matthew, moved from Manhattan to the Bronxville PO in 2008 and then to Tuckahoe in 2015. Matthew is an actuary with AXIS Capital who, Nicole jokingly notes, “spends more time than he should” on the links at Leewood Golf Club. Their son Nicholas is an active 11-year-old, now in the fifth grade at Anne Hutchinson School.

After relocating in Westchester, Nicole quickly began dedicating time to community service, including roles with the Waverly and Anne Hutchinson School PTAs, Junior League of Bronxville, and the Tuckahoe Public Library. She also makes time to meet with local high school students who are interested in attending her alma mater.
