I am honored to serve as your next Mayor of Tuckahoe and humbled by the faith you have entrusted in me. The counting is over, and our team, Josh Gaccione, Sarah DeRise, and myself, has been elected to serve as your representatives in local government for the next two years. This victory belongs to all of us, reflecting the shared values, hopes, and hard work of a community that believes in thoughtful leadership, collaboration, and progress.
I am especially proud to celebrate the wins of my running mates. Josh and Sarah’s dedication, experience, and genuine commitment to serving the people of our village were evident in every conversation, every debate question, and every door they knocked on. Voters saw in them what I have always seen: leaders with passion, compassion, and a deep understanding of what makes Tuckahoe special. It is no surprise that our community has placed its trust in them.
This moment would not have been possible without the extraordinary leadership of our Committee Chair, Julie Gurdin, and the army of volunteers who powered this campaign. You made calls and sent texts. You knocked on doors in the rain and handed out literature in the cold. You woke up before dawn to greet commuters at the train station. You helped us raise the funds needed to share our message. Your energy, belief in this team, and unwavering commitment were the heartbeat of our campaign, and we are profoundly grateful.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Omayra Andino, whose eight years of steadfast leadership and trailblazing service set Tuckahoe on a path of progress, inclusion, and thoughtful governance. Her example has guided us, and the path she forged allows us to continue this important work with confidence and clarity.
And finally, to every voter who showed up, spoke up, and made your voices heard: thank you! In a time when many feel hesitant to speak too loudly about politics, you stood tall. You voted for a vision of Tuckahoe that is forward-looking, community-centered, and rooted in the belief that local government should work for everyone. Your voices were heard loud and clear, and we will honor that trust every single day.
This is the beginning of an exciting chapter for our village. I look forward to working alongside Josh, Sarah, and Darryl Taylor on the Village Board. Together with you, we will continue building a Tuckahoe that reflects the very best of who we are.
With Gratitude and Determination,
Cara Kronen
