Letter of Support from Josh Gaccione

We are proud that Cara Kronen and Nicole Engelbert have received the support of Tuckahoe resident and United States Army veteran Josh Gaccione.

21 February 2022

Dear Neighbors,

It is that time of year again where days of sixty-degree weather are sandwiched between snow squalls and ice storms. It is also time for you to start thinking about how you will cast your ballot for the village election on Tuesday, March 15th. I hope you join me in making the upcoming election about the issues affecting Tuckahoe, a task becoming more difficult with the never-ending news cycle and the struggle to find unbiased news sources.

As a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, we were often sent to gather intelligence or find facts. When deciding who to vote for, I ask that you do not simply show up and pick your team. Do not immediately believe idle gossip or social media accusations as gospel truths. Instead, run your own fact-finding mission. Meet the candidates while they are out, or ask them to stop by your home or chat by phone if you cannot make it out. Any candidate unwilling to meet you where you are and unable to address the local issues has not earned your vote. As an independent voter, I have found these interactions to be the most meaningful, and you might just find that the person you meet is nothing like the person you have heard about from others.

Over the past year, I have seen Village Trustee Cara Kronen in action at Village Board Meetings, organizing community and family events, and on the frontlines in keeping our village safe during the pandemic. I have learned that we share many of the same moderate beliefs while still being compassionate enough to offer a hand-up to those in need and strong enough to support our police and first-responders, ensuring the overall safety of our village. I also know she looked for similar qualities in a running mate and found those qualities, and more, in Nicole Engelbert. These two candidates are brilliant, independent-minded freethinkers who do not hesitate to voice opposition to policies that do not positively impact our village.

If you have not had a conversation with Trustee Cara Kronen or Nicole Engelbert, you are doing yourself a disservice. I guarantee they will make time to meet with you individually or as part of a group or civic organization and will address all your questions and concerns. You owe it to yourself and your family to find the truth. I am confident that once you do, you will join me in voting for the candidates who share your values and put the village first.

Your Neighbor,

Josh Gaccione
