To the long list of reasons why we love Tuckahoe, add this: Unlike most other historic places, we’re still making more history. For the first time in 102 years, Village voters will cast their ballots in November, instead of March, to choose our next mayor and two trustees.

It was Mayor Omayra  Andino – backed by three Democrats and an Independent on the Board – who put the question of election scheduling before voters in 2022. Resoundingly, voters chose November.

Since Omayra became mayor two years ago, our voter turnout is the highest in a decade. And more of our neighbors are turning out to add energy and enthusiasm to our varying village committees and boards. Add the recent upgrade of the Village credit rating to an all-time high of AA+,  innovations like EV charging, as well significant upgrades to Tuckahoe’s aging infrastructure  – and it’s clear that we need to bring back Omayra and her team.

The campaign theme is Promises Made. Promises Kept … and we’re just getting started.
