How to spot a fake profile

UPDATE March 14: The profile of Kaylen Davis has been deleted or disabled, less than 24 hours following the posting of this blog on social media.

A pattern of deceit

Local Republicans have attempted to infiltrate Democratic social media and manipulate opinions for months. In this short blog post, we will introduce you to the most recent fake profile.

Before we start, how can we forget the following creative profiles which appeared during the Tara Conte campaign last fall:

(Photo of Andrew Breitbart)

(Lee Harvey Oswald meet Kamala Harris?)

How to deceive voters with a fake profile

Step 1: First, take on a persona. Who are you trying to pretend to be and for what reason?

For this example, we illustrate the fake profile of someone who want to appear friendly with Democrats and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Clue #1: Kaylen Davis does not exist on the Westchester county voter roll, no one knows her in real life in either Eastchester, Tuckahoe or New Rochelle and she is new to local discussion groups. Iona also verified that no one by that name every attended the college.

-----

Step 2: Choose compelling imagery.

On January 21, Kaylee Davis went all out: Breonna Taylor illustrations, Biden/Harris and anti-fascism watermarks, Martin Luther King Quote.

Clue #2: Trying too hard and changing your profile images a few days before the Tuckahoe caucuses.

-----

Step 3: Follow people, make friends.

Kaylen seems to be ONLY interested in politics, and despite being from New Rochelle, really interested in Tuckahoe politics for some reason.

Clue #3: Being too focused on political interests and following people on both sides of the aisle, despite being seemingly uninvolved in local politics. Then start to mention @tuckahoedems but block all their members so they can't see what you post.

-----

Step 4: Start to use your profile to seed doubt and mislead.

Kaylen challenges Democratic posts and expresses support for the Republican opponents, all under the guise of being a Democrat herself.

Clue #4: Kaylen is not on the voter roll (we already exposed that). Kaylen also forgot about this post from 2015, the day after the November election. She seemed to be a big supporter of Sheila Marcotte back then.

-----

Wrap up

Let’s wrap it up with this hypocritical post from Sheila Marcotte who seems to be following Kaylen closely enough to know what she was blocked from some local Facebook groups (not Tuckahoe Democrats). Meanwhile, Town Council Member Sheila has blocked countless Democrats in town from viewing her OWN Facebook profile or anything she posts, while she uses the platform as a primary mean to share information (and misinformation) with residents.

Final Election Results - Oct 7

To all our supporters:

Nearly three weeks after the official date of the Tuckahoe Village election we finally have resolution! Below is the final certified count after weeks of court proceedings which were conducted to resolve absentee ballots that were objected to.

Certified final results:

DANNY LANG - 886

OMAYRA ANDINO - 844

BERT BALDASSARRA - 827

CARA L KRONEN - 791

A special thanks to Cara Kronen who attended the court proceedings to ensure Tuckahoe residents votes were counted. We have missed an opportunity by not voting her in, so next March we need to make it happen!

Join us in congratulating Omayra and Danny tonight during the Tuckahoe reorganization meeting Wed 10/7 at 7PM over Zoom. Details will be posted on the Village Website.

Remember as we move to the next election – which includes voting on local positions- YOUR VOTE MATTERS! Elections can be decided by a handful of votes as we saw here. Early voting starts Oct 24th at Eastchester Library. It could not be easier.

If you choose to vote by mail or in person affidavit please make sure you fill out your ballot correctly.

  • Fill in your mark completely.
  • Vote on a single line per candidate. If a candidate is on three lines – vote on only one line!
  • Make sure your signature looks like your voter registration!
  • Take the time to use your complete signature.

Vote early! Vote well!

Everything you need to know about voting in the upcoming election.

Election Results Update - Oct 2

As of September 23rd all but 30 of absentee/affidavit ballots were opened in the village election.

At that time the unofficial count was:

DANNY LANG                   874

OMAYRA ANDINO             828

BERT BALADASSARRA      815

CARA KRONEN                 777

Thirty ballots have been objected to. The decision on their fate is expected to be rendered Monday October 5th in supreme court in White Plains. We just wanted to keep everyone up to date and thank you for your patience. Should you need more information please reach out to Omayra Andino ([email protected]), Cara Kronen ([email protected]) or Renee Howell ([email protected]).

Election Results Update - Sep 26

On behalf of Omayra and Cara, THANK YOU for your steadfast support and encouragement this year. It has meant so much! Due to the Pandemic and the postponement of the March Village election, we ran two distinct campaigns- one pre COVID and one during COVID. It has been a tumultuous yet productive time- and we know we could not have had any of our successes without your support!

Here’s an update on the election results as of 9/16/2020:

Danny Lang - 789

Omayra Andino - 740

Bert Baldessarra- 739

Cara Kronen - 694

We are disappointed in the results. Cara Kronen worked so hard to earn the trust and respect of residents and volunteers and she can certainly walk away with her head held high. We are so proud of her.

Omayra, while 1 vote ahead, is anxiously awaiting the absentee ballot count, which will determine if she remains in her seat as Village Trustee. Every ballot is being scrutinized and we hoping to have results to share during the week of September 28.

As you can see, these elections can literally come down to 1 vote and this Election highlights how much EVERY vote REALLY does count.

More to come soon...we'll reach out when we have updates.
