A letter from Clare Gorman

Former Tuckahoe Trustee Clare Gorman shares why she is such a strong supporter of Omayra, Darryl and Josh -

“Iron Man” stomped into the movies … an Illinois Democrat named Obama was striving for the presidential nomination … and I was proudly serving on Tuckahoe’s board.

That was all 15 years ago – and that’s also the last time we stepped back to take a big-picture look at what lies ahead for our Village. The Comprehensive Plan is like a Rosetta stone for our zoning and planning boards, but there hasn’t been a thorough update since 2008.

A message from Mayor Omayra Andino

Dear Neighbor,

I am writing to remind you that Tuckahoe’s Election Day is less than a month away. For the first tIme in its history, residents voted for the Village Board elections to be held in November.

I’m on the ballot - along with Trustees Darryl Taylor and Josh Gaccione - and your vote on November 7th will allow us to keep working on YOUR behalf.

Our collective experience on the Board – Darryl in law enforcement, Josh in the military and education, and mine as CEO of a $65M not-for-profit – equip us with the insights and skills to lead our community into the future. We’re proud of our achievements with the Village’s finances, infrastructure, public safety, legislation, and making Tuckahoe a desirable destination for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

We’re excited about doing even more together!

This November - Tuckahoe Village Elections

To the long list of reasons why we love Tuckahoe, add this: Unlike most other historic places, we’re still making more history. For the first time in 102 years, Village voters will cast their ballots in November, instead of March, to choose our next mayor and two trustees.

You helped bring about this new page in Tuckahoe history – with your voice, your vote, your donation.

A statement from candidate for Village Trustee, Nicole Engelbert, to the residents of Tuckahoe

I have worked in tech for a long time, navigating unimaginable change. What has remained the same, however, is that people only notice the technology when it doesn’t work; the outcry is immediate on the Eastchester Parents Facebook page when Verizon goes down!

Government is the same. Most people only notice local government when the garbage isn’t picked up, pot holes emerge, or storefronts begin to shutter downtown.
